Responsible for the study, and detailed design of Mechanical Static , Rotating and Package equipment. Carries out responsible and varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with the relevant discipline and knowledge of reciprocal effects on other disciplines.
Analyzes technical documents and proposes solutions based upon industrial principles and practical experience. Works independently to develop / adapt drawings, documents and databases based upon a combination of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Supervises and advises less experienced engineers from time to time.
Able to work in different phases of project i.e. Feasibility, Concept, FEED, EPC- Detailed engineering phases.
Able to prepare detailed design documents of static / rotating equipment such as Design Basis Memorandum, Mechanical data sheets, Technical Specifications, Material Requisitions, Inspection and test plans, vendor document reviews.
Competent user of tools for calculations and design of static / rotating / building equipment.
Prepare / adapt new or existing drawings and documents for project specific objectives. Supervise, check and validate drawings and documents prepared by others.
Analyze, interpret and apply codes, standards and specifications to the work.
Make engineering decisions based upon the analysis, in consultation with more senior engineers.
Review technical and commercial quotations for conventional applications offers from Vendors, prepare detailed Technical Bid Evaluation reports and vendor recommendations.
Work within a 2D / 3D model environment to support project specific documents
Identify and communicate impacts of own work, or that of an assigned team, on other disciplines. Interface regularly with other disciplines.
Perform Interdisciplinary checks of the various discipline documents.
Participate and Contribute to project and / or departmental meetings, technical reviews, safety reviews.
Assume other duties as may be required by the company from time to time.
Education and Skills
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university.
5-9 years post graduate work experience in an engineering consultancy or EPC company within the oil & gas industry.
Must demonstrate familiarity with discipline specific codes and standards to include ASME, ASTM, API ASHRAE, ANSI, etc.
as applicable to the area of specialization.
Some site based construction and commissioning experience is an advantage.
