As a Design Manager you will lead the design for our civil and Infrastructure projects.
Job Duties :
Technical and design process of the project from Preparation of Brief, Concept Design, through Developed Design to Construction and Handover.
Adhering to confident robust and well managed design process strictly controlled to a budget.
Collaborate with a fully integrated design team working in hand with both the Client’s and construction teams requirements.
Liaise with internal and external design consultants, commercial, procurement and construction team to assist with production of scope and fees for the design team and specialist trade work packages.
Co-ordinate technical, design and external Client issues with the design and construction teams.
Provide technical guidance, planning and logistic information for bids and tenders.
Involvement with the Client contact during the design development phase and into the construction phase.
Address and control relevant issues with JCT Contracts, Employers Requirements, Contractors Proposals, etc. to ensure design is developed to satisfy these obligations, whilst being buildable, efficient and delivering exceptional value.
In conjunction with Environmental Consultant issue agreed sustainability / Code, Pre-Assessment and Energy Strategy.
Assist with the preparation of Health & Safety File and O&M Manuals.
Develop, monitor and report on integrated design programmes from design team award through pre-construction and construction phases.
Provide technical support to the bid process.
Specific Skills Required :
Excellent English skills
Good working knowledge of QHDM and QCS or similar etc.
Specific industry and project experience highways, public transportation
Design management civil and Infrastructure projects.
Interpret data and information and to produce it in a clear, professional and logical format.
Technical knowledge, attention to detail, diligence and drive to review, check, comment on drawings for change, build-ability and quality, health and safety, and compliance with contract and legislation.
Delivering major projects and possesses the organisational skills required to do so to demanding deadlines.
