Duties and Responsibilities
Participatein the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financialplans.
Monitorbudget and control expenses with a focus on increasing productivity.
Maintainproper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labor.
Supervise the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures.
Directs the work assignment of supervisory and non-supervisory personnel.
Schedules routine inspections by supervisors, of all housekeeping areas includingoccupied and non-occupied areas.
Acts on behalf of the Executive Housekeeper in their absence.
Assist tomanage the quality of housekeeping and laundry services.
Scheduleroutine inspections of all guest rooms and public areas ensure furnishings,rooms; equipment, lines, public restrooms, lobby, etc.
are clean and in goodrepair to meet guest satisfaction.
Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems.
Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over.
Assist with the preparation of efficient departmental work schedules.
Perform Room allocations.
Perform Room inspections to audit standards.
Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements.
Ensure guest valet is processed and delivered in a timely manner.
Co-ordinate special projects (e.g. site rooms, vermin control, window andcarpet cleaning, room inventories).
Effectively manage staffing costs by preparing efficient work schedules.
Assist in the management of lost property for the hotel.
Manage storage areas.
Maintain adequatestock levels and complete stock takes as required.
Conducts shiftbriefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
Assist with therecruitment of staff.
Assist with thedepartment performance of colleagues.
Conduct on thejob training in accordance with the departmental standards, and record progressof colleagues.
Ensure newcolleagues complete their orientation
Demonstrate serviceattributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standardsincluding being attentive to guests, accurately and promptly fulfilling guest’srequests, anticipate guests needs, maintain a high level of knowledge whichaffects the guest experience and demonstrate a service’ attitude.
Appreciate the dynamicnature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to allinternal customers.
Be able topromote the hotel (and InterContinental Hotels Group generally) products andservices.
Maintain a highlevel of product and service knowledge about all InterContinental Hotels Grouphotels in your region.
Ensure knownrepeat guests, priority members and other VIP's receive special attention.
Desire andability to improve your knowledge and abilities through on-going training.
Ability to workas part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, culturesand countries.
