FacilitiesEngineer

The facilities management engineer will be responsible for implementing theoperational service delivery plans for MEP services, to ensure a safe, highquality, efficient, and reliable environment is provided and maintained for allusers (client employees, visitors, contractors, service providers and facilitiesmanagement staff).

Yourresponsibilities will include :

  • Promoting a positivequality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) compliance driven culturealways, including application of permit to work, LOTO, risk assessment andmethod statement processes.
  • Implementing andmaintaining technical / operational standards and quality assurance processesfor the services being managed.
  • Reviewing maintenancestrategies (PPM and reactive) that will ensure the facility is maintained andoperated to optimum efficiency.
  • Implementing operationalservice delivery plans for MEP services, managing execution, and measuringresults, undertaken in conjunction with associated operational managementsystem delivery plans, including but not limited to, health and safety,quality, asset management, material catalogue, finance process and customerrelations.
  • Managing and monitorfacilities management contractor performance for PPM and reactive works againstSLA's and KPI's.
  • Developing consistentlythe customer experience and understanding of client requirements by buildingand developing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensuring full adherence toMacro’s company policies and procedures always.
  • Participating in localbusiness continuity planning, emergency planning, and evacuation drills.
  • Overseeing thecoordination, planning and actions to MEP technical service delivery.
  • Preparing worksspecifications and tender or quotation documents, in liaison with thecommercial team.
  • Ensuring change managementand control is enforced, and standards and procedures are adhered to.
  • Implementing continuousimprovement initiatives, managing execution and measuring results.
  • Identifying and deployinnovative ways in which technology can be used to continually improve servicesto the client and end users.
  • Flexibility, includingdeployment on other projects, and tasks, within skill-set, as required.
  • Inspecting and monitoringcontractor quality control programme.
  • Preparing client monthlyreport, review and interrogate contractor monthly reports.
  • Auditing of stockmaterials monthly.
  • Updating asset capturedatabase.
  • Providing and auditingannual equipment condition reports.
  • Managing the update ofCAFM as changes occur.
  • Participating in capitalimprovement projects.
  • Organising andparticipating in meetings with service providers on regular basis.
  • Managing the time keeping,task focus, attention to detail and motivation, to achieve and exceedobjectives.
  • Yourexperience, knowledge and skills need to include :

  • Previous managementexperience within facilities management.
  • Experience working in aninternational business environment is an advantage.
  • Proactive performancemanagement of supply chain and all stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to manage andresolve issues and actions in MEP speciality field and other areas of Macro facilitiesmanagement project responsibilities as required.
  • Specialist knowledge ofMEP systems installed at the facility - mechanical, electrical or ELV.
  • Understanding of the facilitiesmanagement service provider contracts and Macro role and responsibilities.
  • Good commercial acumen.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent auditing andreporting skills - report writing skills.
  • Organisation and planningskills.
  • Ability to lead and bedecisive.
  • Ability to delegate,prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to communicateeffectively with all service providers, colleagues and client.
  • Established network withinfacilities management industry is desirable.
  • Qualifications

  • A degreequalification in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • A healthand safety qualification i.e. NEBOSH or IOSH is an advantage.
  • Member ofCIBSE, BIFM, RICS, MEFMA, IFMA or other recognised professional institution.
