Your tasks

The Sales Manager assumes leadership for all Sales and Key Account Management activities in Qatar. The position takes responsibility for the overall sustainable and profitable business growth, which includes but is not limited to acquiring business from new customer, developing new business and maintaining relationship with existing customers.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities :

Achieving overall business growth and retention targets (financial & volume) of Schenker Qatar

  • Lead, manage and develop a cohesive and highly motivated team, covering all commercial segments (Sales, Marketing, Key Accounts, trade lanes)
  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy by identifying trends and focusing on the client’s needs and industry challenges.
  • Lead key account management, solution design and successful implementation of new business
  • Identify and convert business opportunities, strengthen market capabilities and customer relationships with specific focus on future and new technologies
  • Assume leadership in fostering a strong Schenker network engagement to facilitate trade lane development and interconnected business development
  • Drive proactive collaboration with DB Schenker’s Global Key Account Management and Vertical Market Managers to grow global accounts in the UAE
  • Facilitate close, customer-focused collaboration and communication with product teams, branch management and trade lane partners
  • Maintain, improve and manage Sales KPIs and measurement processes
  • Monitor business development and customer activities, intervene for specific issue management and implement corrective actions
  • Foster mentoring, coaching and motivating sales staff and create an environment for successful sales Accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace

  • Business development strength with Sales, Key Account and Marketing experience

  • Ability to manage processes and conflicts with internal and external parties effectively

  • Job Requirements

  • Min 8 years business experience, mainly in international logistics with extensive sales, key account management and business development exposure
  • Proven success record of sales management and in closing sales to large MNCs
  • Experience in sales management and successful team leadership
  • University graduated, Bachelor degree (preference would be given to such candidates)
  • Detailed knowledge of logistic services (all transport modes) and understanding of supply chain management and Contract Logistics;
