Job Purpose :
The Junior Fire & Life Safety Engineer is responsible for all maintenance work, testing and systems operation related to the Systems.
He will be the main point of contact for communication with the Client’s Representative.
Job Responsibilities :
The Junior Fire & Life Safety Engineer will represent the Service Provider in the execution of the Works. As part of his duties he will :
Have direct responsibility for the Maintenance of all Plant covered by the Contract.
Be the person with whom the Clients Representative will communicate in all matters concerning the maintenance on a day-to-day basis.
Accept instructions from the Clients Representative.
Submit a monthly typed report to the Clients Representative confirming details of work completed including specialist maintenance work during the previous month and the work planned for the following month.
Notify the Clients Representative of proposed work likely to disrupt the normal functioning of the Plant.
Investigate and report on faults and failures as soon as they occur.
Decide whether or not an item of Plant which has developed a fault will be taken out of service. He will deal with such situations with due regard for continuity of service against safety of Plant.
Test and ensure availability of standby Plant.
Isolate and make safe all mechanical and electrical Plant when required for all purposes.
Issue permit to work documentation and danger and hold-off notices for all such Plant.
Maintain statutory accident books and all records required by the Specification.
Comply with the Company standards specifically related to personal Hygiene, dress code and behavior.
Comply with health procedures, quality and in general all the relatives of HSEQ.
Follow the rules and regulations from the client and from FMM’s HSEQ Management System, which includes attending all training sessions you are invited to and by reading the documents provided to them.
Escalate to their line manager any lack of proper equipment or tools for doing the work.
Report any accident, incident, near miss or health event at work to their line manager.
Develop and produce MS, RA and COSHH.
Ensure that all the Permits required are on place.
Ensure that the staff working under them, are having the statutory training required for the task.
Ensure that the staff working under them are aware of the MS / RA.
Check that the control measures as per the MS / RA are implemented.
Report any mistake or observation on MS / RA to HSEQ Department.
Ensure that the staff has the proper PPE before starting the task.
Ensure that the staff is using proper machines and tools for the task to be done.
Comply with the Company standards.
Cascade the tool boxes talk prepared by HSEQ Department.
Ensure that the employees are understanding the content of the tool box talk.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Registration as a professional engineer.
QCDD Certified / Authorised Engineer.
Experience & Skills :
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role, 5 years of which should have been in the Gulf Region.
Sufficient fire prevention knowledge and skills.
Plan review experience to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities listed above.
Team building skills.
Familiar with work-related regulations (e.g., OSHA, MSDS, NFPA, BS).
Problem solving skills.
