Roles And Responsibilities

JOB FUNCTION

Provide consultancy services to road owners and contractors on the conditions, materials, and repair of pavements and roadside assets.

This includes areas such as pavement design, pavement management, pavement materials, condition assessment, right of way inventories, and mobile mapping.

Provide general engineering support to the local engineering team to ensure quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness of those services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide service in accordance with standard practices to meet client’s request and contract specifications.
  • Good understanding of pavement engineering, pavement materials and transportation asset management procedures for engineering analysis and reporting.
  • Complete engineering analysis and review of collected information to meet client requirements.
  • Undertake investigations and inspections, and assist finding solutions to client problems.
  • Preparation of clear reports, designs, maps, and drawings
  • Assist with the preparation of physical works contracts, assist with monitoring physical works contracts and the provision of effective contract management
  • Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, codes of practice and standards
  • Prepare and update project plans, project reports, and proposals / tenders.
  • Manage projects, including timely and clear reporting and record systems.
  • Actively seek feedback from clients and project teams reflecting on the performance of the team and apply knowledge learning principles
  • Ensure Fugro values and procedures are followed

    Requirements

    Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or equivalent.Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in Civil / Pavement engineering or mobile mapping
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage activities in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Excellent writing skills to complete technical reports and proposals
  • Excellent computer skills with industry software and common office software.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with clients
  • Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of areas such as pavement management, pavement evaluation, pavement design.
  • Experience with completing pavement evaluations including pavement distress, International Roughness Index (IRI), FWD, skid testing, and / or geotechnical investigations.
  • Experience interpreting data and using analysis tools to perform pavement design, pavement management systems, back calculation analysis.
  • Experience with pavement materials, Superpave mix design, Marshall mix design, laboratory procedures.
  • Preferred experience using data visualization tools such as CAD, GIS, and 3D data viewers.
  • Developing and working to documented quality procedures and industry standards.
