About Your Job :
As Manager Engineering , You will direct and monitor the engineering activities within a specific Engineering group under Aircraft Fleets (Aircraft Systems, Avionics, Cabin Interiors, Structures or IFEC) to ensure that aircraft, systems and components are compliant with all applicable current and future airworthiness requirements, safety regulations, operational requirements and company requirements.
You will also :
Monitor and initiate actions to ensure optimum levels of technical dispatch reliability are maintained within cost targets.
Ensure that internal and external customers are provided with the necessary technical support at the required service levels.
2. ACCOUNTABILITIES : Strategic
You Will : -
Assist senior management in effective management / implementation of all other QCANEASA Part-M organizational activities within the scope of responsibility to maintain continued airworthiness of the Qatar Airways and contracted customers fleets.
Set, monitor and control the objectives, priorities and action items to the team in order to achieve the targets and objectives assigned by senior management.
Estimate the required budget to support planned modifications, inspections and reliability improvement initiatives for the Group's scope.
Ensure that all contracts and expenditures are well negotiated and represent the best possible conditions for the Company.
Prevent or minimize budget over-runs at the Group level whilst achieving optimum performance.
Identify opportunities and take initiatives to enhance efficiencies, productivity and working environments in the team.
Identify long term programs and prognostic measures using Engine Health Monitoring tools and Engineering expertise to achieve company dispatch reliability goals in coordination with the team.
Identify opportunities to minimize maintenance burden due to system or component reliability issues and initiate necessary actions.
Airworthiness and Reliability
You will :
Ensure timely evaluation and compliance with all airworthiness data such as Airworthiness Directives, Regulatory or Operational Requirements or other data classified as mandatory per QTR policy at the Group level.
Ensure that all reliability issues affecting dispatch, components or systems are clearly identified, mitigated and resolved.
Ensure that pertinent technical literature is evaluated in a timely manner and engineering documentation issued to implement relevant actions within the area of responsibility by the team.
Ensure assigned technical / air safety occurrences are evaluated / investigated within a time frame commensurate with airworthiness authority and company requirements.
Ensure that effective trouble-shooting guidelines are provided to Maintenance and AOG or work stoppage situations are managed within the respective Engineering group in a timely and efficient manner.
Review and monitor all technical issues and action items periodically and keep senior management briefed on status of all critical items.
Allocate resources and initiate necessary actions at the Group level to resolve all such issues in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement and Operations :
You will :
Review procedures and processes for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
Initiate new procedures or revisions to existing procedures, as needed from time to time.
Periodically provide feedback to senior management on technical issues and action items assigned to the team and all critical or high visibility issues.
About You : Qualifications :
Qualifications : Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic fields, Engineering Management
Or Business Administration from a recognized university.
Previous Experience : Essential
Executive Management - minimum 10 years of job-related experience required
At least 10 years' experience as a Development Engineer with the last three (3) years in the technical management / supervisory role.
5-7 Experience in technical management / supervisory position in Development Engineering or related discipline.
