MWH, now part of Stantec, is looking to hire a Sewage Senior Wastewater O&M Expert to support our Client's Drainage Networks Department in Qatar.
As a Senior Wastewater O&M Expert, the successful candidate would be providing operational consultancy to the challenges faced by the department.
The consultancy offered would include technical troubleshooting, good practice embedment along with coaching and mentoring to improve the ways of working of DNO&M and its supply chain partners.
Responsibilities include :
a)Support the Drainage Networks O&M Section Heads, Department’s Manager and Assistant Manage by giving expert technical, strategic and financial business advice on all elements relating to the Drainage services
b)Advise and evaluate Section and Departmental practices, define problem areas, develop and direct implementation of policy decisions and practices to improve DNO&M’s excellence in delivering valued customer services
c)Participate and contribute to the forums, discussions and engagements related to key operational challenges’ as a technical expert and facilitate technical solutions for adoption and follow-on my relevant action owners
d)Interpret, explain and communicate relevance of new practices, and applicable laws, rules and regulations affecting the DNO&M business to help build a strong, productive workforce within the Department and through its supply chain
e)Ensure, organize and channel appropriate activities within various Sections to ensure alignment and business transformation
f)Share relevant knowledge and experience, understand and communicate to others the various aims, concepts, principles and practices to deliver world class DNO&M services within the wider Corporate and Governmental framework
g)Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Procedures and all company policies, procedures and regulations
a)Degree or higher level qualification in engineering(e.g. BSc, BEng, MSc Civil)
b)Chartered Member of the Institute of Water & Environmental Management (CIWEM) preferred
c)Formal education in Management of Business Administration is an added advantage
a)Minimum of 14 years’ relevant and practical experience within major water / wastewater utility organization(s)
b)Minimum of 5 years’ Leadership / Advisory experience in organization(s) undergoing significant transformation
c)Ability to drive and support strategic change focused on valued customer service
d)Experienced in leading / advising teams encompassing Foul and Surface Water Networks, Pump Stations, Wastewater Treatment Works, Pressurised Pipeline Networks
Technical Competencies :
a)Understanding of different types of contracts including performance based incentivised framework agreements.
b)Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialised activities, disciplines or teams of moderate to large size and complexity
c)Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts
d)Provides specialist services in support of project requirements
e)Able to independently perform highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialised principles
a)Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce business cases and technical reports for adoption by a utility business
b)Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, from executives to operators and contractors
c)Excellent supervisory and management skills, including creativity, change management, and empowerment
d)Strong analytical and project management skills
