Job Summary

The Fit out Construction Manager will serve as a Representative under PM / CM contract in all matters related to management of construction time, cost, sustainability and quality.

Also perform administrative and specialised technical work in reviewing and coordinating approvals of documents related to professional consultant services and capital construction projects.

Lead a team of assistant construction managers and inspectors to ensure Schedule, Quality and Safety are upheld and delivered on site.

Job Duties

  • Key duties include;
  • Overseeing the administration of the project during the construction cycle including; technical, financial and client satisfaction.

    Assist the Senior Construction Manager and project team to develop, manage, update and implement the following :

  • Construction management strategy and plan;
  • Site logistics plan;
  • Project safety plan and procedures;
  • Project testing and commissioning strategy and plan; and

    Project close-out programme.

    Assist the Senior Construction Manager to administer the main construction contract.

    Lead and implement a Safety Culture on site.

    Review and comment on all Method Statements and risk assessments.

    Manage time, cost and quality and oversee, monitor and report on progress of the construction works.

    Accountable for the development, co-ordination and execution of the planning, design and / or construction activities and personnel under his / her direction on a day to day basis.

    Developing procedures for monitoring the progression of planning, design and construction phases.

    Preparing reports for company management and the Client indicating project adherence and progress.

    Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with project plan and specifications.

    Monitor quality of work by contractors and quality of material used on site.

    Management of Contract and subcontract packages.

    Lead and manage a team of engineers and inspectors on the project.

    When required represent the business and interface with public and regulatory officials.

    Train, mentor and development staff.

    Responsible for the safe execution of construction, by all personnel on site.

    Monitor the contractor's progress and prepare progress reports on a monthly basis to the Client.

    Participate in the final inspection of the work with the Consultant and Client. Monitor final completion of the work.

    Recommend acceptance of the completed work to Client after receiving the same from the Consultant.

    Enforce the provisions of the contract documents during the contractors' warrantee period.

    Attend weekly review, monthly and other progress meetings held at the site as and when required.

    With the construction supervision consultant, develop supervision and inspections requirements and procedures.

    Manage the inspection and testing of materials and equipment including reviewing alternates and substitutions.

    Manage the preparation and handover of all operations and maintenance manuals.

    Manage the review of all submittals, Shop Drawings, samples, etc. for compliance with the Project specific Sustainability requirements.

    Review drawings and check for conformance to specification and required construction methodology.

    Prepare snag list / conduct final inspections.

    Manage the handover of the works.

    Specific Skills Required

  • Relevant experience working on major projects; ideally stadiums, or large Fit-out Contracts
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience, two (2) of which should ideally have been in the GCC / Middle East region.
  • Additional Comments

  • Previous Stadium, major sports related venue, or complex project experience a strong benefit.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an internationally recognised institution
