About the Job :

Reporting to the Chief Officer Cargo, you will be responsible for developing and executing a defined marketing and communications strategy aligned to QR Cargo's vision and strategy.

You will be responsible for enabling QR Cargo to meet its commercial objectives. You will assumes overall responsibility for the development of the global marketing strategy by planning, developing and implementing the full range of marketing activities through the use of research, market-

targeting and intelligent branding.

The Manager Cargo Marketing & Communications promotes and positions QR Cargo as a clearly differentiated market leader in the global air cargo industry.

About You : Strategic :

Strategic :

  • Define and identify relevant target markets and segments. You will positions QR Cargo appropriately and develops marketing strategies to develop strong relationships with all relevant customer segments and markets.
  • You will develop and implement QR Cargo brand strategy. Defines and articulates the organisation brand values, image & personality.
  • You will successfully position the business as a clearly differentiated market leader to all relevant constituencies and markets.

    Operational :

  • Seeks to understand client needs in the B2B context, through market research and structured sales feedback. Continuously undertakes analysis of the competitive environment and market trends, competitor products and services, and the evolving needs of the supply chain with a view to constantly benchmark QR Cargo profile and proposition.
  • Employs the full range of marketing-mix including through-the-line campaigns, events, digital marketing, sponsorship and advertising, advancing QR Cargo’s image and market profile globally, applying them in a wide range of relevant market contexts e.
  • g. exhibitions, conferences, publications etc.

  • Acting as the business’s liaison with the media and with the goal of keeping QR Cargo firmly in the spotlight, develops a comprehensive communications and public relations program, coordinating media interest in the organisation and ensuring regular contact with target media.
  • Develops strong relationships with influential journalists and media executives.

  • Builds and maintains a strong network of agency partnerships (in particular creative, event management and PR). Works closely to impart QR Cargo’s needs ensuring an intimate understanding of QR’s image, brand personality and profile enabling the business to gain maximum value from these professional services.
  • Introduces best practice approaches and leading technology solutions to QR Cargo’s approach to marketing, including pioneering the introduction of CRM and the development of a client loyalty programme.
  • Evaluates and benchmarks organisational performance from the customer point of view through the implementation of regular satisfaction, Net Promoter Score (NPS) surveys.
  • Analyses and interprets results disseminating findings into actionable strategies.

    Management & Leadership :

  • Establishes department or team objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluates the department or team objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • About You :

    To be successful, you will have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent thereof, preferably in a commercially oriented field, with a minimum of 8 years of job related experience.

    You will ideally come from an Airline Cargo background and have detailed understanding of the airline cargo value chain.

    You will have knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing communications and public relations activities and, excellent grounding in modern marketing practices.

    You should have proven senior influencing and relationship management skills that demonstrate ability to balance and manage diverse stakeholder interest.

    You should have the ability to challenge current practices and to generate support for / and drive through change.

    You should have an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities. You will have strong creative, strategic and analytical abilities, and be able to manage multiple projects at a time.

    You will be a strong communicator, negotiator, and have effective leadership capabilities to manage and influence a team to perform at high standards at all times.
