POSITION SUMMARY :
Provide Tagalog Linguist assistance as part of theCamp As Sayliyah Other Country National OCN screening office.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES :
Follow screening requirements in accordance with Standard OperatingProcedures (SOP) and promptly report questionable
personnel to CI personnel for further inquiry.
Provide translation during screening interviews.
Maintain all associated databases, files and questionnaires of OCNs for ASG-CI agents for official use in spotting and assessing potential sources and / or threats to security.
Assist in identifying those OCNs that may pose potential threats and require additional screening in order to identify potential threats, as well as, identify OCNs of a CI interest.
Required to input information into the required databases and perform OCN background checks as needed.
Linguist shall attend unit-provided security training on or off the installation in order to ensure their safety and maintain the utmost security awareness while residing in the state of Qatar.
Off installation training may be required quarterly with transportation to and from any event provided by the ASG-S2 section.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED :
General office equipment and supplies,Computer, Cell phone, Vehicle.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
This position works both indoors and out. During a large portion of the year this position will be exposed to extreme heat, sand and dust.
Normal work weekis 48 hours, 5 days a week. Must be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.This position requires flexibility in work hours.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Work environment is often fast paced and at times requires exposure to high heat and humidity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education / Certifications : One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Must have the language capability of a native speaker for Tagalog with general understanding and knowledge of the customs of the particular areas that the language is spoken
Required to pass an initial and annual Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency exam or Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) with a minimum score of 3 in Tagalog.
Required to pass an initial and annual ILR proficiency exam with a score of 3 in English
Possess minimum of 2 years working within a DOD or Department of Justice screening cell.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software. Interpersonal and communication skills are requirements of this position as there is constant interaction with military personnel..
SUPERVISORY / BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES :
Able to react to change productively and handle essential tasks as assigned. Supervises no employees.
