Job Purpose :
As Senior Technical Officer (HVAC) provide direction to the Technical Officers / Technicians and to support the improvement efforts in the department to increase the performance.
Ensure proper hand over of the works is being followed at shift change. Furthermore to report any fault on the equipment to the Engineer, Sr.
Engineer service technicians who work with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment. They are often responsible for meeting goals and maintaining customer satisfaction for the company.
The main role of the STO is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
Job Responsibilities :
Develop systems and select equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and / or refrigeration systems.
Installs, troubleshoots and repairs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, including chillers, boilers and heat pumps.
Assist in the repairs wiring and electronic components associated with automated building management systems.
Supervises replaces expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units and other component parts.
Checks distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.
Balances air and water treatment systems.
Determines cause of and corrects condensation problems.
Provides technical assistance with the design of HVAC systems including installations and modifications to existing systems.
Supervises staff who install, repair, and maintain heating and air conditioning systems in the Airport.
Performs scheduled maintenance inspections, and adjusts, cleans and calibrates various systems to assure proper system operations.
Train staff to test electrical circuits, wire components, electrical equipment and inspect and test different HVAC systems .
Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices and follows safety rules / procedures; avoid known hazards in the work environment.
Prepares and submits requests for supplies and equipment.
Prepares records and reports describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions.
Assists in training other technicians and staff in preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent
Diploma in Mechanical or HVAC.
HVAC Technical Officer often need to complete a formal education program, get licensed, and have experience as a HVAC technician preferred.
Experience & Skills :
Experienced minimum 5 years of job-related experience in a supervisory role is required.
Should have a strong mechanical and installation understanding of the tools and equipment that technicians use.
Two or more years of progressively responsible experience working with complex HVAC systems and equipment including chillers, boilers, package units, VAV systems.
