Role and Context :

The purpose of this role is to own the ICT Contracts for the Ooredoogroup

To develop the contract strategy and secure buy-in by the GroupManagement Committee (GMC).

Lead a team of Group Level Experts to assist individual operatingcompanies (OpCos) in the development of the overall ICT Contracts and itsdissemination within the group.

Drive the execution of the ICT contracts through the performancemanagement process. Through approval of the annual operating plans (AOP) anddefinition of KPIs for OpCo CTOs.

To ensure delivery through tracking of performance against the planswith appropriate escalations and briefings to OpCo.

The role holder maintains close contact with Peers at the operatingcompanies and works closely with other members of the technology teams to drivethe overall vision, technology road maps, and world-

class network architecturesto enable capital efficient network plans.

Providingthe overall group Leadership for ICT contracts and direct best practice acrossthe group and Act as a centre of excellence for contract management.

Ooredoo group is a $9Bn business covering 10 markets from North Africa,Middle East and South East Asia. The Ooredoo group team has responsibility todevelop and drive strategy across the footprint : capturing key trends andissues, identifying best practice from across the industry and deliveringstrategic guidance to the leadership of the operations.

Group Technology department drives technology innovation, coordination andexpert support for the OpCos.The mainrole is to work closely with the business (i.

e., Commercial, Sourcing, Finance,etc.) to provide efficient and timely solutions to business requirements.

Group Technology ensures that solutions are fit for purpose’ in orderfor the group to achieve its stated strategic aims, revenue and profit targetsby enabling synergies across the Group Operating Entities.

As the Ooredoo group embarks on its journey to move from a traditionaltelco operator to a leading digital player. The role will be pivotal is leadingthe development of the contracts that will shape the future of all services theOoredoo offer to our customers.

Ongoing management of the ICT contracts will beessential in delivering on the company’s vision.

Role Accountabilities :

Provide the leadership on the strategic contract options that willenable Ooredoo on digital journey and support the execution of these ambitions.

This should be supported with deep experience and understanding of industryevolution.

Lead the evaluation,deployment, and management of current and future ICT contracts. This includedthe strategic direction for the following domains :

Lead the development of group ICT contracts, working through the technology leadership team, define the contractual directions, articulate and secure buy-

in from the group / opco CXOs.

Lead the development of Group-level contract practices ensuring alignment with Group strategic vision.

Leads the ICT contract management to closely collaborate with other members of the technology team to drive overall technology vision, road maps, world-

class architectures, and enable capital efficient technology plans.

Lead Group-wide synergy and harmonization initiatives in ICT. This is to be achieved through application of ICT strategies and close collaboration with the Ooredoo Sourcing team to deliver group wide efficiencies.

Define the KPIs to measure successful execution of the ICT contracts.

Lead the transfer of best-practice contract management to the OpCos in line with Group preferred practices.

Coordinate with Group Strategic Sourcing for driving synergies, valuation of bids, and selecting vendors; provide technical expertise.

Lead the ICT development of strategic contracts that enable Ooredoo to leverage international best practice and ICT innovation to gain a commercial advantage in Ooredoo OpCos.

This must be achieved in the most efficient way, tailored to our geographies and operational capabilities

Actively Develop strategic relationships with key vendors, to include the relationships with the group account teams and the key senior resources in the vendor HQ organisations.

Lead the development of the ICT contracts. These plans to be to be endorsed by the senior Ooredoo leadership. This requires the ability to communicate and influence the technical / commercial community, CxOs and board levels in Ooredoo.

Lead relevant expert groups & centres of excellence in contracts domain. These forums will be leveraged to engage the group OpCos, share best practice and align on overall ICT strategies.

Support OpCos in resolving ICT contract related issues, as required, and as per the defined framework for Group involvement in the OpCos.

Leads the development of OpCo community through competency centres, centres of excellence and jour fix to enable sharing of learning and best practice.

Support in M&A technology due diligence.

Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and technical expertise to the global organization and own team in order to embed best practices for contract management across the Group.

Lead the formulation of strategic and operational governance processes of Group Technology as a member of the senior management team.

Experience and Qualifications :

MinimumExperience & Essential Knowledge

  • 15 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Previous OpCo / vendor Director or equivalent key Group-Technology role in the mobile telecom industry and prior experience in fixed telecom International experience
  • Vast experience with developing & executing ICT strategies & Contracts
  • Knowledge of key telecom ICT, industry best practices strategy, Management, processes, architecture and infrastructure
  • High level of awareness regarding changes in technology standards and their repercussions for the Group and operating companies
  • Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies, and establishing and maintaining strategic relationships
  • Strong understanding of business requirements and ability to translate those into impact on the ICT Landscape.
  • Knowledge of mobile telecom ICT systems, platforms and technologies, including hardware and software components
  • Strong knowledge of ICT implementation and maintenance strategies and alternatives
  • Ability to explain key aspects of technology innovation, information systems, and networks to lay people

  • International experience
  • Fluent in English Arabic / French a plus
