Role and Context :
As a Group, Ooredoo generated total revenues of over $600m from Digital services in 2015 and created a dedicated Digital Services unit to evaluate & develop existing and new growth areas.
The unit leverages the Group’s strengths and assets to contest with new competitors and build new businesses in Digital services such as Mobile Financial Services, Mobile advertising, Content and Partnerships (VAS), Digital Media (IPTV), personal cloud, security, ecommerce and non-
entertainment VAS. There is an immediate opportunity to grow these direct revenues further and increase indirect revenues from digital services in our markets in particular on assisting data monetisation.
The role-holder is responsible to support the entertainment, digital and financial services team in developing and building the Digital Entertainment and MFS business to continue to deliver a profitable stream of connectivity, content, and MFS revenues for Ooredoo Group.
Role Accountabilities :
Manage specific Digital services work streams with operating companies on increasing effectiveness to support non-core revenues and data growth and manage specific initiatives at OG & operating company level (process & tools improvement, guidelines & best practices sharing)
Assist Opcos select best partners for their markets, this includes assisting in tailoring RFPs, assisting in answering questions, providing guidance on final selection etc.
working with all relevant teams within Opco to ensure alignment (technology, customer care, commercial etc.)
Assisting opcos manage all aspects of the relationship with partners setting and enforcing KPIs, reviews etc., assistance with creating digital roadmap
Reviewing the current content availability / relationships for all forms for vertical (music, utility, games, video etc.
across the Group and identifying gaps in availability and sourcing new partners to launch new services
Develop and disseminate to all Opcos, best practice guidelines for Digital services to drive through improvements in revenue and operational effectiveness across the Group of companies.
This includes sharing learning form the different OpCo content teams across the Group
Conduct monthly / quarterly Opcos reviews & managed service providers to ensure that key KPIs are being met
Responsible for working with Opcos on areas of performance management to ensure that they continue generating incremental revenue, reducing time to market for new digital services etc.
Provide detailed reports & charts of project performance, new launches and opportunities
Minimum 10 years of experience preferable in the Telco industry or adjacent digital industries (not just technical)
Experience of working as a key account holder for operators
Ability to understand the impact of operational decisions on organizational initiatives
Proven track record of increasing market share
Ability to establish solid relations across Vendors, Operators, 3rd party etc.
Bachelor Degree from a reputable University with excellent academic performance
Marketing background preferable
Multi-national experience and exposure to different markets but primarily must have worked in developing markets
