Job Purpose : To plan and organise all network-wide equipment inventory deliveries / forecasts into and from stores of all QR inventory items (including Bond items).
Responsible for ensuring that all QR Catering Stations worldwide have the right equipment, dry stores and beverages available at the right time whilst controlling stock flow and cost.
Accountabilities : Operational Manages the global equipment inventory in Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) and in all station locations worldwide, ensuring that all have the right equipment at the right time without being overstocked.
Implements logistics strategy to ensure that equipment is not carried around the world unnecessarily; creating an effective, cost efficient solution that assists with fuel conservation.
Responsible for balancing the utilisation of delivery methodologies to stations such as sea, air or cabin-load to maximise availability, whilst controlling cost and remaining within operational constraints and governance parameters Works with development teams and galley planners to ensure inventory planning is reflecting real inventory performance in order to optimize minimal deviation between forecast and actual usage.
Liaises with shipping agents and caterers to manage deliveries and cabin loads. Responsible for stock control and security of the equipment worldwide.
Organises the introduction of new equipment, including the timely withdrawal and disposal of the obsolete stock with caterers worldwide.
Responsible for proposing and highlighting opportunities to reduce purchase price, or shipping costs though efficiencies in volume commitments and better supply chain processes to manage total cost of ownership.
Responsible for coordinating and keeping up to date the Inventory section of the Catering handbook. Leads all station start-
ups and close downs in relation to ensure equipment is available in a timely manner for start-ups and is removed quickly for close downs In charge of monitoring the stock to ensure that there are no out of stock situations at any stations and any losses are accounted for with responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely station updates of stock holding and the ongoing checking of caterer performance for Catering Performance to manage if required.
Responsible for inventory risk including risk evaluation, gap analysis, risk mitigation proposals (loading reduction, substitutions etc.
including the development and communication of inventory risk reports and substitution reports.
Investigates, collates and reports on all issues pertaining to inventory quantity from the Voyage Reports Manages the reduction in stock losses and breakages, ensuring that systems are in place to measure this, usage rates are produced and specifications for withdrawal are produced and available with suppliers.
Proactively supports the inventory planning activities of nominated third party suppliers and QACC. Updates planning team with any information related to equipment utilization which may affect ongoing equipment requirements.
Management & Leadership Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
Oversee and supervise employees.
Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery Available for travel to overseas destinations as required.
Development Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise especially in the field of food safety.
Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management. Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.

Qualification and Experience : Qualifications Essential Bachelors Degree or equivalent Preferred Chartered institute of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT) or equivalent Previous Experience Essential Minimum 5 years of job-
related experience required Logistics management on global scale Supplier Management Preferred Stock Control / ERP Systems -
Oracle / SAP / Qosmos Management of airline catering stores and equipment Work experience at a supervisory level in airline catering.
