MWH, now a part of Stantec is currently seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer for a site operation managing the New District of Doha Pumping Station and Outfall Project in Qatar.
The ideal candidate will be a strong well disciplined, task driven highly technical and experienced lead geotechnical design specialist who has specialized primarily in investigation, routing, siting, and detailed design of large pipelines and tunnels and outfalls and pumping stations and large deep basements.
Shall be highly experienced in the field of geotechnical mapping and investigations, planning and scoping of large site investigations (onshore and marine), analysing and reporting / evaluating results, preparing factual and interpretive reports and Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBRs), classification of underground strata, ground / geotechnical risk assessment, micro tunnelling, etc.
covering design works for pipelines, tunnels, marine outfalls and deep basements and deep excavations.
Extensive experience in the detailed geotechnical assessment and analysis and design of large pipelines, tunnels, marine outfalls, shafts and pumping station sumps and basements including temporary and permanent works design and ground stabilization works and dewatering systems etc.
Latterly this candidate will also have been providing high level hands on detailed technical review and auditing and signoff of all aspects of the geotechnical tunnel and shaft and deep basement design for projects including large pipelines and tunnels and outfalls and pumping stations / basements in a range of ground conditions soft and hard and a range of groundwater conditions including high groundwater.
