Position Summary :
Under the direction of the assigned homeroom teacher, the Learning Assistant will work either independently with students or within small groups to support the learning of the students in the classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Organize materials to be used during the instructional day.
Help prepare and deliver materials for duplication.
Help move children to and from specialists’ classrooms, lunch and recess
Actively supervise children during morning recess, in the cafeteria, noontime recess, and any other time as requested by the Principals.
Assist with the development of learning displays.
Assist the teachers in the preparation of documents such as classroom newsletters and student send home folders.
Escort students to their respective buses and gates at the end of the day.
Provide assistance to all classrooms at your grade level and other grade levels as needed.
Assist grade / division level teachers to set up equipment.
Provide individual and small group lessons under the supervision of the classroom teachers and specialist teachers.
Attend weekly meetings with teachers to prepare for learning objectives and discuss student needs as necessary.
Attend regular professional learning opportunities to enhance his / her own learning.
Communicate regularly with the Homeroom Teacher with regards to student needs, preparation for lesson, teaching strategies to be used with students.
Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma and / or the equivalent and (2) years relevant experience
Computer Literate for both Mac and PC
Proficient in the English Language (reading / writing / speaking)
Ability to work as a team player
Demonstrated excellent level organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and safeguard confidential information
Experience in a similar International and / or Regional environment is an advantage
