JOB SUMMARY : The Engineer Hardware System and 3D Printing helps deliver 3D printing functionality, primarily for Imaging based Departments such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Digital Pathology, Cardiovascular Imaging, and Women’s Imaging.
Engineers specifically mechanical engineers for Advanced visualization are involved in the development of novel devices primarily driven by imaging data using rapid prototyping and 3D printing techniques.
Such devices may include prototype devices, prostheses, casts, models of organs and anatomies, etc. The position requires supporting systems in production.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Develops departmental workflows for 3D printing solutions
Maintenance of 3D printers and associated lab equipment.
Designs, rapid-prototyping, and CAD based analysis of 3D printed objects
Responsible for stress / strain analysis and appropriate implementation of ASTM standards for hardware devices.
Responsible for creating business strategy plans as they relate to 3D printing.
Assists and works closely with Biomedical Engineering, IT stakeholders, and Clinical Departments to implement 3D printing solutions.
Adheres to organizationally mandated development tools, techniques and industrial best practices and applying them appropriately to internal systems
Responsible for helping execute advanced applications development plan.
Responsible for helping de-risking efforts via rapid prototyping of project concepts.
Critically evaluates data and information from a variety of sources (including experts, clinical applications, databases, practice guidelines, relevant websites, etc.
to inform the delivery of care.
Assists with systems validation for audit and compliance.
Participates in mandatory training and actively practices continual professional development in alignment with professional development programs to ensure maintenance of professional licensure / accreditation.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Performs any other duties within the scope of the position necessary for CMIST services to run efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS SELECTION CRITERIA :
BS in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degree.
MS in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering degree
Certification and Licensure
Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA)
