Wyndham Hotels andResorts is now seeking a Reservation SalesAgent to join our team at Wyndham DohaWest Bay in Doha,Qatar.

JobSummary

The Reservations SalesAgent is responsible for handling reservations, inquiries andcancellations in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner, andquoting available rates to maximize room revenue according toWyndham standards.

Education &Experience

  • HighSchool diploma or equivalentrequired.
  • Experience in a hotel isrequired.
  • College course work in related fieldhelpful.
  • PhysicalRequirements

  • Flexibleand long hours sometimes required.
  • Sedentarywork - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / ornegligible amounts of force frequently or constantly to lift,carry, push, pull or otherwise moveobjects.
  • GeneralRequirements

  • Maintaina warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Mustbe able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, withall level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly,courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must beeffective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concernsraised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able tomultitask and prioritize departmental functions to meetdeadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guestsand employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous andservice-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotelrequired meetings and trainings.
  • Maintainregular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels &Resorts Standards, as required by scheduling, which will varyaccording to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintainhigh standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includeswearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Complywith Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations toencourage safe and efficient hoteloperations.
  • Maximize efforts towardsproductivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementingsolutions.
  • Must be effective in handlingproblems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying andsolving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able tounderstand and apply complex information, data, etc. from varioussources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must beable to cross-train in other hotel relatedareas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentialityof information.
  • Must be able to showinitiative, including anticipating guest or operationalneeds.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to usemultiple computer programs of varying levels ofcomplexity.
  • Perform other duties as requestedbymanagement.
  • FundamentalRequirements

  • Answerall incoming calls promptly, in an attentive, courteous andefficient manner.
  • Answer guest inquiries abouthotel services, facilities and hours ofoperation.
  • Book room reservations whilefocusing on maximizing room revenue and average rate using standardrate quoting scenario at all times.
  • Up sell rooms whenpossible.

  • Enter reservations into the computeraccording to standard operatingprocedures.
  • Communicate and work closely withthe Sales Department to build group blocks and enter groupbookings.
  • Maintain availability calendar andcommunicate all relevant information to the Front Deskstaff.
  • Maintain accurate files andreports.
  • Handle all special reservations, toinclude V.I.P. reservations, packages anddiscounts.
  • Monitor daily sales activity andalert front office team of sold out nights, group status andpossible problem situations.
  • Post no-showrevenue daily, if required at property.
  • Be ableto perform all duties of Guest Services Agent and assist at frontdesk as required by HotelManagement.
  • Communicate availability towholesalers.
  • Call for occupancy at areahotels.
  • File reservations and groupcontracts.
  • Review Reservations logbook andGuest Request log on a daily basis.
  • Sendconfirmations.
  • Process advance deposit / balancesheet.
  • Process brochurerequests.
  • Assist with processing travel agentcommissions asrequested.
