MWH, now part of Stantec, is looking to hire a Sewage Treatment Works (STW) Operational and Process Expert to support our Client's STW Department in Qatar.
The STW Expert will provide specialist experience, expertise and insight into the operational optimisation opportunities and improvement solutions for the management of the STW.
Responsibilities include :
a)Review of existing operation practices and contractual arrangements at all STWs and PTPs in preparation for a proposed catchment based operation approach
b)Evaluate the tanker management practices at all STWs and suggest operational improvements
c)Monitor and liaise with the contract management team for potential and necessary amendments in contractual arrangement
d)Identify and propose operational improvements to reduce cost, improve product quality, increase treatment efficiency working along with partner(s) in other operational units such as collection and distribution
e)Develop an operational flexibility and resilience plan for implementation by DNO&M to optimally operate major treatment works and PTPs
f)Support Section Head and engineers to establish individual objectives for engineers in alignment to Department and Section objectives and KPI targets
g)Ad-hoc support to Head of Section in particular and to section engineer in general
h)Participate and contribute in discussions / reviews of challenges and solutions on behalf of the team as advised by the Section Head
i)Share relevant knowledge and experience, understand and communicate to others the various aims, concepts, principles and practices to deliver world class DNO&M services within the wider Corporate and Governmental framework
j)Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Procedures and all company policies, procedures and regulations
a)Degree or higher level qualification in engineering(e.g. BSc, BEng, MSc Civil)
b)Preferred Chartered Status
a)Minimum of 10 years’ relevant and practical experience within major water / wastewater utility organization(s)
b)Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in treatment plants above capacity of 150MLD
c)Proven track experience of dealing with O&M, BOOT, DBOOT contracts
d)Ability to drive and support strategic change focused on valued customer service while handling a team of multiple ethnicities and personalities
e)Experienced in leading / advising teams encompassing Wastewater Treatment Works, and knowledge of work on Networks, Pump Stations, and Pressurised Pipeline Networks
Technical Competencies :
a)Process Engineering Expert who can manage and coordinate specialised activities, disciplines or teams of moderate size and complexity
b)Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts
c)Provides specialist services in support of project requirements
d)Able to independently perform highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialised principles
a)Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce business cases and technical reports for adoption by a utility business
b)Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, from executives to operators and contractors
c)Excellent supervisory and management skills, including creativity, change management, and empowerment
Strong analytical and project management skills
