The Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) manages a team of engineers, is a valued business leader in the sales leadership team and evangelizes Cisco’s technology vision across all architectures to customers and partners.

Activity Overview

Proactively manages a team of high-performing SE’s while using innovative methods to improve team performance such as coaching, mentorship, and sponsoring participation in development programs.

  • Serves as a spokesperson for SE perspectives and is an active member of SE and Sales leadership teams
  • Drives delivery of regional revenue goals through technical programs and oversees daily account activities
  • Drives operational excellence :
  • Reinforces and inspects usage of SalesForce (tagging to deals and technical close)
  • Reinforces and inspects usage of SAGE (representing skills & proficiencies)
  • Reinforces and inspects the inclusion of resources in Lifecycle Engagements (GVE, GFEP, Partner, CX)
  • Maximises business metrics to understand how his / her team impacts the business (e.g. ensure most significant opportunities are covered by appropriate technical resources, skills align to opportunities)
  • Enables sales by supporting new and existing opportunities through collaborating with key customers as a technical and professional advisor.
  • Builds and sustains contacts within Cisco BE’s, strategic technical resources, and between larger industry partners.
  • Guides and supports the Account SE to embrace new go-to-market strategies
  • New responsibilities required by lifecycle selling model
  • Business Architecture skill sets to engage with customers from a business-first perspective
  • Builds professional brand through social networking and events participation and mentors SEs to engage similarly
  • Profile

    A technical business leader who works with sales leadership, customers and partners to set local strategy, aligns team capabilities to opportunities and cultivates a culture of innovation.

    Skills and Competencies

  • 4+ years of people management role in a multinational environment
  • Ability to encourage, lead, and develop a technical engineering team.
  • Skilled communicator, able to convey technical concepts and align them to desired business outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business knowledge.
  • Ability to build and maintain crucial customer relationships over long-term.
  • Broad knowledge of Cisco and driven architectures and portfolio.
  • Ability to employ a data-driven and analytical mindset to own the business
  • Knowledge of the Qatari market is a plus
