DohaFull descriptionKey responsibilitiesManage the delivery of key Sustainability Strategy initiatives to : Ensure an accessible FIFA World Cup 2022™ for disabled people and people with limited mobility, including : Auditing of official FIFA World Cup 2022™ sites against FIFA’s accessibility requirementsEnsuring improvements to fulfil those requirements are implementedWorking with multiple functional areas to ensure accessible services and guidance are delivered for participants, attendees and staffDeveloping and delivering accessibility training and awareness raising for key functional areas and stakeholdersEnsure tobacco-free FIFA World Cup 2022™ sites and events in alignment with the FIFA Tobacco-free Policy.

As a member of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC Sustainability Team : Design and implement sustainable procurement practices that facilitate a welcoming and accessible tournament experience for participants, attendees and staff.

Support the maintenance of an effective sustainability management system for the tournament in line with the requirements of ISO 20121, including the development and implementation of action plans and operational processes, capacity building, stakeholder engagement and communication, monitoring and evaluation of performance, and reporting and knowledge transfer.

Work closely with FIFA Sustainability & Diversity staff based in Zurich and relevant teams within FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy to deliver jointly managed projects and activities.

Assist the planning and coordination of meetings, workshops and site visits.Liaise with and / or support other organisations in Qatar or functional areas in their delivery of initiatives that : Facilitate accessibility for disabled people and people with limited mobility across physical infrastructure, public transport and services in Qatar.

Promote cultural exchange among parties engaged with the FIFA World Cup 2022™, with a focus on enhancing understanding of the culture of Qatar and the region.

Build local expertise to deliver the FIFA World Cup 2022™ and foster the development of the sports and events industries in Qatar and the region.

  • Empower young people in the region through football programmes and the FIFA World Cup 2022™ platform.Qualifications and experienceMinimum requirementsA deep passion for sustainability, driven to leveraging the unique value of mega-sporting events to contribute to sustainable development goals and the promotion of responsible business practices;
  • Deep familiarity with international accessibility standards for disabled people;5 years of work experience implementing accessibility programmes;
  • Experience of working in complex, fixed timeline, multi-stakeholder environments;Proven track record of generating productive stakeholder relationships that successfully deliver sustainability / social responsibility outcomes;
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication; andProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and conducting internet-based research.

  • Candidates with experience in the following areas will have an advantageUniversity degree in social sciences, human rights, equality, diversity and / or international relations;
  • In-depth knowledge of social responsibility issues, particularly in the context of mega-sporting events;Familiarity with Corporate Social Responsibility ISO 26000 and / or AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standards;
  • Developing and delivering capacity-building programmes and training material for internal and external stakeholders;Work experience implementing diversity and inclusion programmes;
  • Sustainability performance management, reporting and communications;Working in sports and / or events;International work experience;
  • andProficiency in Arabic.Unique knowledge and skillsQuick learner with ability to grasp complex structures, projects and relationships in a short timeframe;
  • Self-motivated, extremely well organised, proactive and accurate;Strong communication skills (both verbal and written);Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills;
  • Capacity for interacting with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds; andKnowledge of worldwide socio-political and sustainability issues.
