Perform regular risk assessments of the various businesses and units within the Retail and Corporate Banking portfolios Derive a risk-
based review plan for each reviewable unit and update the plan on an ongoing basis in consideration of the changes in the risk profile of the business units.
Prepare planning memoranda, which will include the scope and objectives of the review, for individual credit reviews based on the approved plan.
Carry out credit reviews of the Retail and Corporate units within the plan and participate in internal audits when required.
This requires knowledge and analysis of the Bank’s products, businesses, policies, procedures and the regulatory environment in which the reviewable units operate.
Work closely with other team members in performing credit reviews and other audit assignments, discussing potential issues with the team leader as they arise.
Participate in meetings with senior management during the review e.g., opening, interim and closing meetings.
Take a pro-active role in making recommendations in respect of credit risk and related controls.
Focus on material risk issues when drafting findings and recommendations of credit review work, according to their significance and impact on the Bank.
Prepare draft review reports in the standard format Regular tracking of issues raised in order to ensure that effective and timely actions are taken by the business to address the issue.
Escalation of any past due items to the Head of Corporate Audit & Credit Review.
Through regular communication with the appropriate people, establish and maintain a professional relationship with the Retail and Corporate business and credit risk units in order to help the Credit Review function achieve its strategic goal of being a partner to the business.
Ensure discipline of maintaining working papers for each assignment in accordance with the prevailing Credit Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Keep updated with changes in local and international rules and regulations, which could affect the credit risk profile within Retail or Corporate Banking.
Share knowledge with colleagues.
This may be in the form of making presentations to communicate results and lessons learned from reviews of Retail or Corporate units as well as any new learning from trainings attended.
Education : CA / CPA / CFA or equivalent preferred.
Fully qualified accounting professional CPA / CFA or equivalent preferred.
