Manages all pre- and post-contract activities for a major multi-million dollar infrastructure project.Interacts with Client, consultants, and contractors throughout the projectlifecycle.
Proven experience dealing with contractor and consultants claims anddisputes.
Participates in strategicplanning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid / no bidanalysis, participation in business plan development, etc.).
Provides technical guidanceto assigned personnel, and ensures proficiency and timeliness of contractadministration. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needsarise.
Recruits, interviews, andevaluates prospective employees. Hires, takes corrective action as required, and approves terminations.
Collaborates with Clientand project management consultant to ensure proper support in proposalpreparation, as well as contract negotiations and administration.
Reviews requests forproposals to identify risks and contractual terms not conforming to policy.
Negotiates the moredifficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients.
Maintains an activeparticipation in related professional societies to keep abreast of relevantcontractual issues.
Performs otherresponsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requires a comprehensiveknowledge of industry business practices and the negotiation of primecontracts.
15 years of prime contract administration andmanagement experience within in a large international engineering andconstruction firm with at least 10 of them working in a similar capacity onwith similar companies supporting large construction and infrastructureprojects
Further Qualification Required :
English language proficiency is required.
Chartered membership of the Royal Institute ofChartered Surveyors (MRICS) or other internationally recognized institutionspreferred
Have a working knowledge of PC software packages typicallyassociated with contract administration.
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity isalso required
The ability to work as part of a specialist team,combined with the self-motivation required to work with minimal supervision andhave experience of running multiple contracts at any one time, interpretingcontracts and dealing with claims and other contractual issues.
Working knowledge of FIDIC and other internationalstandards such as, NEC, JCT, ICE, EJCDC, and pre- and post-award contract administration.
Familiarity with civil and common law is a plus.
Further Experience Required :
Relevant work experience including extensive contractsadministration, negotiation and claims management exposure.
Has experience dealing with high value claims, disputeresolution, and arbitration on both construction and infrastructure projectsand preferably have experience of working in the Middle East or Internationallywith FIDIC and other international forms of contracts.
