Job Purpose :

  • To Plan, manage, deliver and evaluate the spectrum of strategic and tactical career development services, programs and activities;
  • strategically, the senior specialist will be contributing to the national career policy and strategy process, while tactically the role entails areas like career guidance, counseling, coaching and training.

    Key Result Areas :

  • Manage and deliver the planning, implementation and evaluation phases related to QCDC’s technically specialized career guidance, counseling and overall development projects.
  • Instill career guidance within Qatar's national level strategic development process, mainly via influencing national policy making and contributing to strategy formulation, by means of devising necessary frameworks and documentation anchored in the senior specialist’s ability to conduct adequate research and produce relevant knowledge.
  • Conduct and manage research and data analysis projects, aiming at generating requisite career related knowledge and research papers.
  • Devise, manage, implement and assess career orientation and outreach programs, services, activities, events, edutainment games and learning experiences for different age groups, including kids, teens and adults.
  • Devise relevant and specialized career development content and material to be used for different purposes and through various communication channels, including but not restricted to publications, program plans / manuals, correspondences, reports, proposals and presentations.
  • Provide direct and various academic and career guidance, counseling, development, mentoring, coaching and training to different stakeholders, namely students, as well as student-influencers (such as academic and career counselors, parents, teachers and policy makers), through various set-ups, channels and platforms.
  • Provide multifaceted / multi-level training and development to QCDC’s staff and other stakeholders to enable them to acquire and develop their career guidance and development knowledge and skills.
  • Lead due diligences, technical evaluations and contract administration and implementation related to relevant prospective and existing partners and key suppliers.
  • Take responsibility for continuity of key operations and for managing risks applicable to areas of duty.
  • Build and develop critical stakeholders’ relationships in alignment with pre-set objectives and targets.
  • Develop and manage the career development budget and revenue generation plan.
  • Other reasonable tasks as assigned by line-manager.
  • Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in career guidance, counselling, development or other relevant field.
  • 6-8 years or more of experience providing the whole spectrum of strategic and tactical career development, in line with the above mentioned key result areas, along with excellent program management skills.
  • Exemplary leadership, analytical, planning, organizational, implementation, assessment and time management skills.
  • Exemplary multi-level / stakeholders’ interpersonal communication, presentation / public speaking and negotiation (at one end with kids / students, at the other with national policy makers).
  • Excellent oral and written Arabic and English, with the ability to draft and edit a variety of high level written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Oracle ERP.
