Facilities and General Services Department
College / Department Profile
Manages and provide the support services to the facilities management operational services and to all department sections, in order to ensure and support its performance effectiveness and efficiency, and achieve the services quality standards, and meets the end user requirement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and control the annual plans and budget for the facilities and general services department / sections, and prepare the control reports periodically.
Develop, maintain and improve the department quality management system (policies, procedures, work flow, organization structure) and ensure the QMS is in line with Qatar University's strategies and policies, and the comply with the related organizational excellence standards / models (ISO, EFQM,TQM, ..)
Conduct quality internal audits to verify staff compliance with the QMS, and evalute and monitor the department quality perfomance.
Manage and follow up the tendering, outsource selection and contracting procedures for the new projects / contracts to ensure that its compliance with the approved contracts plan and the scope of works for each project, and to ensure the effective achievement of projects / contracts objective.
Follow up and control the progress of contracts / projects to ensure the compliance with its appointed time schedule and contract conditions / requirements, and the approved budget.
Maintain the facilities information systems / dashboard / database
Manage mail and archiving activities for all QU departments / faculties
Bachelor degree in engineering
10 years’ experience including 5 years in similar role
Strong project management and contract management experience
Organizational excellence, Quality Management Systems(ISO, EFQM, TQM,...)
Understanding Facilities Information System
Understanding of risk management
Decision-making and analytical skills
English Language in both written and oral capacities.
