Job Description

JOB FUNCTION Operates and maintains technical equipment for the collection of road conditions. Equipment such as Fugro's ARAN, Falling Weight Deflectometers, pavement friction devices, etc.

The Senior Technical Officer is expected to be able to collect high quality data that meets the needs of clients and all specifications.

The Senior Technical Officer will help to coordinate the schedule of equipment, ensure maintenance is completed as necessary, and help provide a safe environment for operating the equipment in the field. Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out data collection surveys (ARAN, visual distress, RSP, F / HWD, GPR, mobile lidar) in accordance with test procedures and quality assurance requirements.
  • The safe and timely execution of data collection surveys.
  • Performing calibration and validation procedures of data collection equipment.
  • Performing maintenance and routine servicing of equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensuring daily maintenance checks of equipment and vehicles are performed.
  • Ensuring daily data checks are completed and progress reports are completed for surveys.
  • Training of Technical Officers in current procedures and methodologies.
  • Preparation standard reports (daily, calibration and maintenance).
  • Supporting team members in the implementation and review of standard procedures, safe work method statements, work instructions and training programs.
  • Application and promotion of Fugro Middle East's Health and Safety policies, procedures and rules.
  • Performing operational and administrative tasks as directed.

  • The Health & Safety Policies and Procedures are read, understood, and agreed to with relevant procedures applied to work activities
  • Employees are expected to work in accordance with Fugro Procedures, in order to achieve consistent and sustainable results.
  • Non-conformance with the processes and procedures may result in disciplinary measures being taken. Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Certificate / Diploma in engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-years of experience working as a Technical Officer.
  • Current Driver's License and excellent driving record. Working Conditions
  • Regular travel throughout Qatar and possibly overseas (e.g., GCC).
  • Night and weekend shifts, as necessary, are a requirement of the position.
  • In addition to the duties specified above, the company is entitled to request the employee to perform such other duties as are within the employee's skill, competence or training, and are reasonably requested in order to meet the requirements of the company Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Sound knowledge of equipment and methodologies (Visual, RSP, F / HWD, GPR, ARAN and Roadside Assets).
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving and trouble shooting.
  • Sound knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software.
  • Proven competency with Microsoft Office applications including Access and Excel.
  • Experience with GPS equipment and systems.
  • Ability to produce quality work and display continual attention to detail.
  • Ability to actively perform in a team environment and promote a team approach.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to policies and procedures.
