The Director of Marketing, reporting directly to the General Manager, will develop and execute locally-relevant and impactful initiatives to drive awareness, trial and revenue for the hotels, with a primary focus on :

  • Advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Public relations
  • Online marketing & social media
  • Branding standards and sales support
  • Event marketing & client events
  • Partnership marketing
  • F&B Marketing
  • Loyalty program support
  • Drive Awareness

  • Leads public relations efforts on behalf of the hotel, developing and implementing PR initiatives :
  • Builds relationships with local media across key segments and maintain database of journalists and other influencers
  • Develops activity schedule incorporating events, press releases and other announcements linked to key hotel events and activities
  • Responds to media enquiries and information requests
  • Organizes and hosts incoming media, influencer groups and other individual visits to the hotel
  • Manages associated online / offline agencies
  • Develops and maintains corporate image and reputation management practices (in conjunction with regional WH&R direction), including intellectual property management and crisis communications.
  • Plans and manages internal communication and awareness of corporate direction, mission aims and activities.
  • Supports the implementation of on-going, focused community relations programs that are strategically planned to support and enhances the area marketing efforts
  • Ensures that all the departments throughout the hotel adheres to the Wyndham Communication guidelines
  • Identifies, develops and executes appropriate social media strategies for the hotels, in line with WH&R regional and global direction.
  • Drive Revenue

  • Develops and executes marketing activities for the hotel in accordance with regional brand strategy and direction including but not limited to online, offline and partnership marketing campaigns.
  • Prepares the annual marketing plan and budget for the hotels, in line with regional brand strategies and including measurable campaign objectives and targeted results.
  • Develops offline marketing activities including advertising, direct marketing and collateral / merchandising materials
  • Develops online plans and activities encompassing SEO, paid search, email marketing and other digital opportunities.
  • Manages and develops hotel website content to maximize conversion
  • Creates plans for departmental functions, notably F&B, spa and other functions as required
  • Monitors and analyzes performance of marketing campaigns to measure impact
  • Ensures efficient participation in Wyndham regional and global promotional opportunities
  • Identifies and delivers targeted, profitable partnerships with local consumer brands that drive guest acquisition, experience and retention.
  • Follows competitive activities and recommends appropriate responses.
  • Supports Wyndham rewards acquisition and guest retention efforts on property, in conjunction with WH&R regional marketing
  • Manages associated online / offline agencies.
  • Develop Relationships

  • Works closely with Sales and operations to ensure aligned business planning
  • Participates in owner meetings as directed, to demonstrate results, build trust and confidence in hotel marketing and communications efforts
  • Participates in hotel level EXCOM / HOD meetings and other meetings as required
  • Develops strong local relations through active participation in community projects and initiatives together with the hotel’s management team.
  • Leadership

  • Maintaining a business environment based on the Code of Conduct and Company Vision
  • Maintain and enhance the open door policy to all team members providing advice and guidance when needed in regards to their issues or concerns and / or grievances
  • Responsible for People leadership of direct reports of your team (recruitment and selection, performance management (Appraisal / PDP), associate development and motivation, counselling / disciplinary issues.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions 1 : 1s with direct reports with the team.
  • Human Resources

  • Ensure that the hotels are fully compliant with Wyndham people processes and deadlines that govern all Wyndham properties.
  • E.g. AES, Success Matters, Probation reviews etc.

  • Ensure that the administration of the probation review process in the operational departments and ensure that follow-up for all issues is done in timely manner and results of both follow-
  • up and the initial reviews are communicated to all relevant parties

  • Talent Reviews taken place as per the communicated timeline and are live in the business
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training for departments; as well as the Departmental Trainers are positively encouraged
  • Control the LTO, Absence and Payroll in your department in conjunction with the HR Leader on.
  • Conduct interviews for relevant roles in conjunction with HR
  • Review manning and re-recruitment of all positions in conjunction with HR
  • Ensure that you dine in the team member restaurant at least three times a week and provide HR Leader on property feedback
  • Support WeCom with quarterly People, Community and Sustainability engagement events.
  • Communication

  • To conduct or chair regular communication meetings with team(s) and actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Conducted documented 121’s with all direct reports
  • Share all relevant information with GM & HR in 121’s
  • Attend ExCom Meetings
  • Attend Business Review Meeting
  • Quarterly Hotel Meeting
  • Finance

  • Plan and track departmental budget
  • Plan and track departmental holidays and lieu days as per the needs of the business
  • Manage activity budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of funds and accurate forecasting
  • Ensures that marketing plans show a measurable ROI against spend wherever.

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and remain calm under pressure
  • Confidence in developing internal and external relationships, using networking and influencing skills to achieve results
  • Expresses an entrepreneurial attitude to business development
  • Demonstrates authority and credibility with internal and external relationships including owners, general manager and corporate leadership
  • Self-sufficient and adaptable.

    EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION

  • Ideally BS / BA in relevant field
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
  • Experience working in 4 / 5 star hotel.
  • Minimum of three years of marketing management experience, preferably with both Marketing and PR & Communications expertise
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with hotel and corporate teams to align and execute against a common goal
