To manage all Catering Services nominated suppliers (frozen entrees, desserts, tray set items and dry stores items and menu cards), this includes ensuring that all forecasts and contracts are in place and price increases are investigated and concluded in a timely manner, ensuring the effective and consistent delivery of 5-star award winningzservice at the best price.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for managing the operational relationship between Qatar Airways Catering Services (QACC) and all nominated product suppliers, which include Frozen Entrees, Dessert and Sandwich Suppliers, dry 1 stores suppliers and menu / wine card suppliers.
  • Leads the supplier selection process for nominated product including production of Cost Management Committee (CMC) documents and other approval documentation.
  • Responsible for reviewing the flying programme and providing accurate stock forecasts for suppliers in advance and communication with the caterers regarding the cycle changes.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports stock consumption with all suppliers and with station caterers and makes changes to stock forecasts and levels as appropriate to ensure stock availability whilst reducing wastage.
  • Responsible for the communication of all new start-ups and close downs to the nominated suppliers, in relation to the impact on volumes and additional delivery points.
  • Responsible for liaising with station caterers, and QACC regarding stock ordering and consumption to track under / over ordering or consumption and to put in place corrective action plans to resolve issues.
  • Leads the introduction of new products and continually reviews to ensure that the introduction of new products are managed in a cost effective way that does not impact the 5 star service or the cost through excessive write off.
  • Monitors contract and product expiry dates and works with Procurement and contracting to ensure that all contracts are in place in a timely manner and that all products are used before expiry.
  • Creates new product briefs for Standards and Procedures and Product Delivery Department within the agreed timeframes and supervises product technical evaluations.

  • Responsible for setting up and developing the relationships with logistics providers / product consolidators as part of the Catering Services strategy.
  • Responsible for agreeing and ensuring that the QR online product list hosted by logistics suppliers is always up to date reflecting the correct products with the correct effective dates and pricing as agreed.
  • Responsible for the menu / wine card design, forecasting by route and cycle, loading communication to the caterer and all Oracle supporting functions and monitors all feedback.
  • Responsible for Onscreen Menu files and Link Table in conjunction with the In Flight Entertainment Team working with the Menus Officer to ensure robust upload of data as required.
  • Daily review of Voyage Reports (VRs) to monitor crew feedback, proactively identify and report trends and implement corrective actions

    Bachelors Degree or equivalent with 5 Years of of job-related experience required.


  • Logistics / supply and supplier management experience.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Complex Data analysis and forecasting management
  • Expert in MS Excel, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication and skills.
  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.


  • Experience of flight catering supply chain management.
  • Experience of managing change.
