DohaReporting to the Director of Innovation and Technology, the IT Data Manager is responsible for creating / maintaining databases and administering the communication between the school’s separate IT systems.

Duties and Responsibilities : STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM / LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMMaintain Follett Destiny library management system and associated databasesWorking administrator of the school’s learning management system including but not limited to support and training of teachers and staffWork with the PowerSchool administrator to manage data export, import, and maintenance in other school applicationsWorking closely with PowerSchool learning support to maintain the daily workings of the learning management systemMaintain the data integrity between PowerSchool and other automated systems and processesDATABASE DEVELOPMENTDevelop and deploy computer applicationsCollaborate with IT, teachers, departments on DB needsMaintain documentation per company standardsProvide testing, documentation, training, and support for third-party software productsResolve user-submitted database problems and questionsDATABASE PRIVACYLead the school’s database privacy policy and proceduresAssist with training of departments on data proceduresPeriodically check departments data practices for complianceIT SUPPORTOversee prompt solutions to data support tickets generated by teachers and staffProvide support to IT personal for data request and requirementsAssist with data problem solving across all divisions and departmentsCommunicate solutions and the resolution of problems to all concerned partiesOTHER DUTIESPoint of contact in the sending of SMS messages to staff and parentsComplete other tasks and responsibilities related to data management as assigned by the Director of Innovation and TechnologyKnowledge & Skills : A university degree in information technology or related fieldThree years of actual experience in creating and working with databases preferably in an educational environmentOne to three years of experience in database developmentProven experience with OOP languages (Java, C++, VB.

NET)Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAXWorking knowledge of ODBC and connecting different database technologiesWorking knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)Working knowledge of E-learning platforms (i.

e. PowerSchool Learning, Moodle, etc.) and its use to help educators with blended and flipped instruction.Working Knowledge of Student Information Systems especially as it pertains to reportingAbility to import / export data across dissimilar systemsStrong working knowledge of Google Suite, specifically the ability to work with app scriptsAbility to communicate and work well with othersExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailRequired Documents : Police clearance from country of originAuthenticated education documentsDesirable skills : Prior working experience in an education environmentWorking Conditions & Physical Demands : Work typically takes place in a normal office environment requiring : SittingOperating a PC or Apple MacBook and other office equipment
