Participates in the day-to-dayactivities of the Sewage Treatment Plant Laboratory.
Performs sample analysis and tests of routineand non-routine nature including samples of all effluents anddischarges.
Takes samples such as rawsewage, treated sewage effluent, samples from Sequencing BatchReactor (SBR) and aerobic digester for testing, under carefullycontrolled conditions in order to ensure that samples arerepresentative.
Includes visiting field area, uses specializedequipment such as pH meter, Chlorimeter, Spectrophotometer,Incubator, Oven, Muffle furnace, Thermal reactor etc.
Performs quantitative and qualitative chemicalanalysis of sewage treatment products such as : Treated sewageeffluent& sludge, other Samples from SBR, Aerobicdigester.
Checking the quality andconcentrations of various chemicals visually and using specializedequipments and preparing standard solutions and Reagents to carryout the required tests and calibration of apparatus.
Ensures strict adherence to safety and firstaid practices and keep abreast of the latest safety practices.Ensures that safety systems like Overhead / Face Shower are inworking order.
