  • Gathering and examiningtimesheets to ensure their validity.
  • Enteringstart and end times onto the payroll software.
  • Capturing approved annual and sick leave.
  • Ensuring that compensation for overtime work iscalculated at the appropriate rate and that annual leave iscalculated accordingly, if applicable.
  • Confirming that legally-mandated and optional deductionshave been processed correctly.
  • Preparing anddistributing hard copy or electronic paychecks.
  • Performing all tasks well before the pay run to ensurethat staff members are compensated and notified on time.
  • Addressing queries about payroll-relatedissues.
  • Working to resolve discrepancies inpayments as a matter of urgency.
