The Senior QuantitySurveyor is part of the shared services team and will be providing allnecessary assistance to the construction supervision team concerning allfinancial aspects and contractual matters in the project.
He / she will be responsible for review andapproval of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters.The SQS will lead in the analysis and evaluation of all contractor claims andother contractual matters.
Take care of thefinancial and contractual aspects of the project.
Participate, record andprepare the minutes of the progress meetings.
Provide support on allfinancial and contractual matters throughout the work in the project.
Convene and chair allcommercial meetings.
Ensure prompt submittaland completeness of Contractors monthly payment applications and finalize thepayment certificates with the assistance of the QS’s.
Make sure that all costand quantity records are streamlined and kept in order by the QS’s.
Advise the SRE and RE’son measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities.
Evaluate the unit ratesfor new work items with assistance by the QS’s.
Lead in the preparationof variation orders.
Lead in the evaluationand recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims, including presentationand agreement of recommendations to the Contract’s Department of Client and theEngineer (PMC)
Advice on contractualmatters related to financial issues.
Ensure completeness andvalidity of all contractual requirements.
Advise on contractor’sresource allocation.
Prepare financialstatements for monthly report.
Audit payments toContractors.
Check and record measurementsof completed work.
Monitor contracts finalcost estimates.
Review, negotiate andprepare claim settlements with the Contract’s Department of Client and theEngineer (PMC).
Coordinate and monitoractivities of the Commercial team.
Prepare Final Accountwith all supporting documentation.
Degree in QuantitySurveying, Civil Engineering, or related field and fifteen (15) years demonstrableexperience in Quantity Surveying on major road, highway and generalinfrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.
Qualified chartered QuantitySurveyor by a recognised international body such as Chartered Institute ofBuildings (CIOB) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Experience of preparingBills of Quantities, cost estimates, and the management of claims required.
Must have a soundknowledge of contractual relationships.
Must be fully computerliterate and able to utilise computer technology to access data, maintain records,generate reports, etc.
and any project specific engineering and constructionrelevant software.
Must be fluent in English both written and spoken withan excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and writtencommunication skills.
