Reporting to the Access Senior SupportSpecialist, the Library Tech Support Specialist II must be a provenleader with the skills and expertise necessary to support theStudent Affairs Department in fully implementing theCollege’s mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities : This position requires anenergetic and enthusiastic individual who will provide professionalcustomer service in the support of access services, technicalservices, collection and records management, and facilitate accessto resources for library user.

The successful candidate will be thefirst point of contact to library users, therefore should possessexcellent customer services skills, the ability to assess customerneeds, provide guidance and assistance to basic reference andresearch.

This includes assistance with the use of Libraryequipment (printers, computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers,computer applications (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, specializedbusiness, engineering, IT and digital media software) and directlibrary users to appropriate Library staff when required.

Thesuccessful candidate will use the Integrated Library System (ILS)to check out library materials, update records, input newacquisitions, manage the booking of study rooms, and search thelibrary catalogue.

Other important functions are shelve inventory,check books according the Library classification system. He / shewill maintain order and accessibility of books, process incominglibrary materials (records, books, DVDs and serials,) assist withinterlibrary loans, document delivery, recordkeeping to facilitatetimely access to resources, process books, journals, and recordsfor disposition, including creation of lists and adherence toretention schedules.

The successful candidate may also beresponsible for maintaining serials, processing, claiming,updating, and creating lists for collection development, repairbooks, preparing creative displays to promote library services,assist with preparation of requisitions, ordering materials andsupplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
