DohaPOSITION SUMMARY : This position supervises and directs the financial activities and safeguards the assets, and prepares all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This role adds value and will serve as a financial advisor to Management and Ownership.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : · Responsible for the effective management of the hotel’s financial operations and financial stability and to ensure the maximum return on resources;
Works with the CEO and Director to achieve the maximum benefit to the hotel through the development of sound Finance policies, procedures and objectives;
Prepare review, and present the monthly financials and the annual forecast projections throughout the year and advise hotel management, corporate office, and owners of any major variances and their impact on the operation.
Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard hotel assets. Maintain adequate internal control over revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities of the hotel· Ensures compliance with the required legal requirements;
Ensures compliance with the hotel’s policies and procedures;· Responsible for the review and monitoring of financial regulations;
Ensure the Group budgets, financial and management accounts are properly prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting standards;
Ensure that proper accounting records and reports are maintained;· Review the appointment of the hotel external auditors and ensure that all relevant internal audit reports are reviewed and that agreed action plans are implemented as necessary;
Responsible for the management and development of all finance staff, including recruitment, motivation and retention of staff;
Plays a key role in the senior management team and contributes to the overall hotel effectiveness through collaborative goal setting and delivery;
Develop and maintain risk management procedures and appraisal systems for all significant areas of risk;· Ensure that risk management is embedded throughout the Finance function with the identification and management of risks being integrated into decision-making and reporting processes.
Others : · Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses of the hotel.· Analyse financial data of operations in order to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining an efficient operation.
Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability.
Qualifications : Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business;Relevant professional qualification (i.e. ACCA, ACA, or similar);
Proven presentation skills and ability to communicate to a wide range of individuals and external stakeholders;Ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff at all levels;
Ability to plan, organise and prioritise effectively, in order to achieve targets and meet deadlines;Understanding and experience of promoting equality in employment;
