Examines electrical,structural, and mechanical components and housings for defects inassembly, soldering, bonding, and finish.
Measures dimensions and verifies locations of parts,holes, grooves, and other points, using precision measuringinstruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, dialindicators, and optical comparators.
Testselectrical components and finished devices for electricalfunctioning, using electrical test equipment, such as oscilloscope,multimeter, voltmeter, and computerized test equipment.
Tests functional characteristics, such as freedom ofmovement, leaks, and torque, and tests performance of device undersimulated operating conditions, using specialized testequipment.
Maintains records of inspection andtest results and presents results to other staff for correctiveaction.
May inspect and calibrate precisionmeasuring instruments used to measure electromechanical instrumentsand equipment, using calibrating equipment.
May inspect and test purchased parts and materials and bedesignated Receiving Inspector.
