DohaFull-time, PermanentDuties & Responsibilities : Assist the Catering Manager in managing the food and beverage provisions for functions and events to include : negotiating contracts with customers, planning menus based upon customer contract requirements.

Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed before, during, and after the event. Assist the Catering Manager in establishing budgeting and financial targets and forecasts for catering location.

Strive for continuous improvement through; monitoring the quality of the product and service provided, interacting with customers, dealing with staffing, and client issues.

Keep abreast of trends and developments in the industry, such as menus, trends in consumer tastes and management issues.

Responsible for assisting the Catering Manager in all financial and administrative records managing payroll and budgeting requirements.

In the absence of the Catering Manager, responsible for overseeing the management of facilities, e.g. checking event bookings and allocation of resources / staff.

Contribute to business development through planning new promotions and initiatives. Maintain stock levels ordering new supplies when needed.

Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities : Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the restaurant's policies and procedures.

Directly supports the Catering manager in supervising the catering and wait staff at functions; performs work of subordinates as needed.

  • Responsibilities include assisting as needed in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
  • appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining a safe work environment; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and Experience : Associates degree in business preferred, however, 3 years of proven history in Catering operation and supervision may be substituted for education.

    Excellent interpersonal and oral / written communication skills. The incumbent must have excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

    Knowledge and skill in Microsoft WORD processing and EXCEL spreadsheets, e-mail, and retrieving information from the internet.

    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Position demands ability to operate with minimum supervision, appreciation for detail, ability to understand the basic functions of co-workers, and to work as a member of a work team and experience in dealing effectively with customers and fellow employees.
