Al Udeid Air BaseThe Vehicle Maintenance Foreman is responsible for assigning projects, supervising, and providing guidance and direction to vehicle maintenance mechanics in the safe operation and maintenance of assigned equipment, and performing administrative work associated with maintaining appropriate record of equipment maintenance performed.
Principal Accountabilities(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.
Oversees the inspection, diagnostics, repair and rebuild of components and assemblies of assigned equipment.Ensures work orders are carried out in accordance with priorities, goals and schedules.
Ensures safety practices and housekeeping standards are maintained to the highest standard.Oversees the storage and disposition of hazardous materials in accordance with DI procedures and the rules and regulations of the host country.
Ensures that complete inspections are performed on all completed vehicle repairs to ensure a quality product is delivered to the customer.
Performs administrative duties associated with work orders and scheduling staff to ensure projects are completed.Maintains activity records and logs regarding equipment and its repair.
Ensures that work orders and invoices are processed properly.Operates and performs routine maintenance and up-keep of equipment and tools.
Provides training for subordinate personnel and monitors job performance.Performs other qualified duties as assigned.Knowledge & SkillsConsiderable knowledge of the occupational hazards and the proper safety precautions involved in maintaining assigned equipment and vehicles.
Working knowledge of the principles and practices of organization, administration, and supervision.Ability to develop and implement work schedules.
Ability to understand and work from manuals and specificationsAbility to provide guidance and direction in the safe repair of assigned equipmentAbility to prioritize tasks and assign workers as appropriate.
Additional knowledge / skills may be required by contract and will be listed separately.Experience & EducationHigh School degree or equivalent.
Five (5) years mechanic experience, with two years in a supervisory role.Additional experience / education may be required by contract and will be listed separately.
Physical Requirements / Working EnvironmentMust be able to work in a maintenance shop environment.Must be able to lift 50 LBs.
