About The Job

As a Duty Manager Cargo Operations, you will be responsible for smooth running of cargo Operational function at the cargo hub office for day to day operations, controlling and directing staff to contribute highest level of service standard and optimum utilization of space and available payloads by co-

coordinating with Ground Handling Agents (GHA) and inter departments. You will supervise and monitor all GHA activities relates to cargo at the warehouse and ramp.

Accountability

  • Please and ensure the ramp transfer cargo are loaded and connected for inward flights with relevant documents by co-coordinating with GHA, and update QR cargo systems with the correct information to save space on ground and effect quick connection of cargo.
  • Monitor outstation Cargo / Mail / Courier activities to ensure smooth , safe handling and onward connections.
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth flow of cargo transfers from warehouse to aircraft and also coordinate with charter flight handling and special loads.
  • Supervise with GHA warehouse activities and ensure QR procedures are strictly implemented and adhered to by GHA members.
  • Coordinate with GHA / CSC and outstations to meet operational and sales requirements to maximize the space utilization with minimum discrepancies.
  • Responsible to action all communication and action with constant touch with GHA / Ramp / Warehouse staff and, minimize mishandling and ensuring all cargo flown as booked.
  • Management & Leadership

  • Oversee and supervise staff. control and monitor staff attendance, performance and discipline and all staff. Deploy staff to look after operational function and boost staff morale to have effective supervisory function.
  • Maintain workable levels to ensure productive use of resources through management of holiday shifts swaps and overtime.
  • Train and develop other staff, to ensure succession planning.
  • About You

    Must be a University graduate. A minimum 5-6 years of work experience, of which 3 years are in the airline cargo operations industry, with experience in managing and supervising an operations team.

  • You should also have experience in GHA and SLA Management .
  • You should have the ability to delgate work, set clear directions and manage work flow. You would need to have strong mentoring and coaching skills.

    You should be a computer literate with high proficiency in MS Office and should have excellent communication skills in English.

    It is preferred if you have sound project management and presentation skills.

    Experience in managing and supervising an operations team is a must.
