Are you seeking a Roads & Infrastructure PMC opportunity to help Qatar plan its transportation infrastructure country wide?
Jacobs have recently been appointed to provide PMC services to one of Qatars government entity. The main scope will be providing PMC service to the clients major highways and road projects.
As an Assistant Design Manager, you will be responsible to provide technical oversight and assistance for all phases of the construction project and ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
The essence of this job will be to successful manage and monitor the project and programme(s) by;
Ensure and review design compliance related to Projects
Manage and review performance of various consultants and Consultants in terms of design
Review and recommend upon various designs throughout the lifetime of a project
Apply international design standards across various projects
Help develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilisation of resources
Selects and coordinates work of stakeholders working on various phases of the project
Assist the Design manager with overseeing the performance of all trade Consultants and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed
Assist the Design Manager with overseeing the administration of construction contracts and ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are obtained
Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated
The minimum qualifications for this position are :
Minimum of 8 years post graduate experience with experience in major
infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to roads,
aviation, structures or rail related experience
Experience of technical reviews
Experienced and technically excellent in design coordination
Experience of technical design software
Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects
In-depth knowledge of design procedures
Technically proficient in all aspects of design both pre and post contract
Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both
internally and with various project stakeholders
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience :
Evidence of suitable professional qualification CEng or equivalent is preferable
Masters degree in a relevant field
Arabic language skills
Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
