Helps represent theinterests of the client during construction execution. Support Client innegotiating changes to the scope of work.
Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associatedwith the project.
Participates in negotiationswith regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients’interests. Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and SafetyPlan, Quality Assurance / Quality Control Plan, and other documents required fromthe construction contractor.
Establishes the programrequirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the final deliverablesfor adherence to these criteria.
Responsible for the development anddistribution of a description of the project.
With the ConstructionMangers, monitors the execution of the technical, financial and administrativefunctions of the construction contract.
Assigns responsibility for executingproject plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilizetheir qualifications and strengths.
Provides input to performance reviews and development plans forsubordinates
Identifies the needs forspecialist resources to create project teams capable of completing effective,quality work.
Discusses thequalifications required of the key project positions in specific detail withthe senior managers. Collaborates withthe office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
Works with the client, thecontractor, other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads tocoordinate budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of aproject.
Works with the key projectand construction contractor individuals to monitor action plans to rectifypotential construction cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significantchanges to the scope of work.
Advisesthe client and other team members of any such changes. The Project Manager is responsible to overseecoordination with the Contracts Management and Project Controls Groups and anyclient sub-
contractors to maintain current and timely change orders.
Promotes technical andcommercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assuranceprocesses. Monitors and reports on theprogress of all project activity including significant milestones, and any conditions,which would affect project cost or schedule.
Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate actionitems.
Performs otherresponsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
4-year degree in Engineeringor related technical field.
15 years ofpost-graduate experience. Experience in major infrastructure project design orconstruction. Further QualificationRequired :
Incumbent must havea broad general technical and construction background.
Professionalregistration may also be required.
Proven ability toperform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communicationsskills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are alsorequired.
