Assists residents with activitiesof daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting,transferring and getting to and from activities and meals accordingto the individual service plan.

Allows andencourages residents to do as much of their own care aspossible.

Serves meals to residents in thedining room or apartments and may assist in preparing mealsfollowing preplanned menus.

Encouragesresidents to eat a proper diet and take adequate fluids whilerespecting the resident’s right to free choice andrecords and reports changes in resident’s eating habitsto the supervisor.

Initiates and participatesin leisure activities provided for residents as described in theactivity calendar and encourages residents to socialize andparticipate in planned activities or programs to developfriendships with other residents.

Maintainsresidents’ records daily in a timely manner and inaccordance with company policy and procedures; documents medicationdistribution as applicable, leisure activities, incidents, andobservations;

reports any changes in resident’s physicalcondition and / or behavior, and visitors; observes and reports thehealth and emotional condition of each resident;

and promptlyreports all changes to the supervisor.

Assistsresidents with medication as defined in medication procedure;assists or supervises residents who self-administer medication;

follows physician orders and state laws to administer medicationsto residents who cannot self-administer their medications;

andexhibits understanding of and follows medication policies andprocedures.

Maintains a clean, safe, andorderly environment for the residents; performs generalhousekeeping; and follows cleaning schedules for resident laundry,bedrooms, dining area, living space, bathrooms, kitchen, and otherareas.
