This position requires a service oriented and customer centric individual whowill provide assistance in the operation of the campus bookstore byhelping customers in the purchase of books and / or supplies,receiving merchandise, and performing data entry within regards toinventory.
The incumbent will also, manage purchasing of textbooksand ensure the textbooks are in alignment with courserequirements.
Candidates should have experienceworking in a similar or related role, preferably within aneducational institution and possess the qualifications necessary tobe successful in the role of Bookstore Supervisor.
The candidatesare responsible to assist students and instructors in locatingtextbooks or supplies, ensure the availability of back-orderedbooks, and liaise with the college’s ProcurementDepartment to purchase and follow up on orders fortextbooks and other supplies.
Candidates willmonitor the titles, ISBN, and quantity of textbooks received andreconcile with the purchase order. S / he will also, liaise with theschools to ensure textbook orders are in line with theschool’s requirements and individual course objectives.
Candidates will also coordinate with the Procurement Department toresolve text book issues with vendors for example, missing pages,shipment damages, etc.
S / he will maintain bookstore stock inventorycontrol records, provide a list of low stock items for reorder, andensure orders received in PeopleSoft are interfaced to MMSsystem.
Candidates will provide high-level ofcustomer service by responding to direct phone calls and walk in inquiries by customers in a professional and timelymanner, during hours of operation.
S / he will also provide accurateinformation regarding stock availability in a timely manner.Candidates will ensure the bookstore is well organizedat all times.
This includes ensuring shelves are labeled with therelevant details (ISBN, MMS, description, etc.), books areorganized according to departments / themes, and merchandise isdisplayed in an appealing manner.
