Position Summary :
Apply combination of technical and business acumen, hands-on military Logistics Management background and a strong functional aptitude for Information Systems, to collaborate with a team of functional logistics experts, software engineers and representatives of client organizations.
Implementation of integrated transportation software solutions which include business process analysis and mapping to software supported processes, requirements validation, system configuration, data conversion, end user functional training, system support and maintenance.
The individual will work with other functional implementation specialists to provide implementation, training and support services to the customer.
Essential Functions :
Conduct business process assessment and engineering from existing practices to best of breed industry practices
Evaluate transportation systems, programs, operations, functions and organizations
Document solution designs and functional requirements for customer specific requirements
Collaborate with the customer on requirements definition and implementation solutions
Perform system configuration and tailoring in collaboration with a team of functional and technical experts
Participation in the planning and management of data conversion efforts
Assist in developing, organizing and supporting user acceptance test cycles
Support the client during final User Acceptance
Conduct project management review sessions at the customer, contractor and company level
Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Education and / or Experience Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and / or Experience Qualifications :
Experience in Logistics Management, Transportation or related field or at least eight (8) years equivalent work experience in Military (USA / UK, USAF, USN or other Services), Government contractor or Commercial Transportation Operations
Transportation / Logistics operations experience, including carrier management, transportation planning, and fleet management desired
Practical experience in Business process engineering at the enterprise level
Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) or other formal training in transportation and logistics is preferred
Prior experience with MRO and supply software or ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, JDA in the Defense and / or Aviation Maintenance and Logistics systems arena is highly desirable
Strong working knowledge of USA / UK and USAF transportation management admin systems (e.g. TC-AIMS, GATES)
