Stantec is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer for a Flood Protection Scheme project.
The scope of the project includes design review, project management, and site supervision of urgent flooding mitigation works at two residential communities in Doha, Qatar, spanning 600 and 650 ha.
The Assistant Resident Engineer will need to :
Lead and supervise a team of multi engineering disciplines staff and contractor within contract period and meeting PWA quality objectives.
Implement methods for dispute avoidance and resolution study
Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple sites
Effectively evaluate technical proposals and its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical site problems that may arise during construction.
Evaluate and monitor the progress of the Works in accordance with the submitted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) along with the Cost Breakdown Structure and Resources Breakdown Structure.
Oversee all environmental protection aspects of the construction and operation of similar size sewerage projects.
Ensure Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
Review and justify the material submissions, analyse laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s specifications.
Prepare QA / QC plans and have the ability to lead and motivate a project QC team, write clear, brief and accurate technical reports.
Prepare construction project monthly valuation.
Prepare Site Instructions and Variation Orders.
Assess and evaluate Contractor’s Claims.

Qualifications : A. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University to the approval
of the Engineer. A recognized Professional Qualification would be a distinct advantage.
Received Professional training in the field of Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Minimum 12 years demonstrable experience in all aspects of supervision with minimum
7 years of experience in works related to similar surface & ground water networks
Must demonstrate his experience in respect of the technical proposals evaluation and
its constructability, technology deployment, solving the technical problems that may
arise during construction;
It is an essential requirement to have previous experience in managing similar open
cut and micro tunneling surface & ground water networks under Design & Build projects
undertaken within the city.
Experience must include all Health & Safety aspects of the construction of construction
projects of the same nature.
Experience in quality control and quality assurance of sewerage, surface and water,
drainage, outfalls, pump stations, , road, highways construction quality and control
Particular emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality
Should be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and
technical reports, carrying out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality
measures, Construction method of statements & shop drawings ensuring the
compliance with the project's specifications. Ability to prepare accurate QA / QC plans and have the ability to lead, cooperate and motivate a project QC team, write clear, brief and accurate technical reports.
Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written
technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills;
Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple work areas on site are essential.
Shall be registered as Grade A -from MME.
