Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Financial Analyst, the Accounting Coordinator performs various financial and accounting tasks according to WCM-

Q Policies and standard operating procedures. The incumbent will primarily support the Research Finance team, providing administrative support in relation to grants and contracts and will also provide cross coverage within the Finance division as required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Tracks and monitors all charges made to designated program funds.
  • Prepares periodic reporting in relation to funding sources.
  • Closes out completed programs by ensuring all expenses are recorded within program timeline and reconciles total expenses to authorized funding.
  • Analyzes and reviews expenditures of funds for grants and contracts.
  • Works with Research administration and contract officers to resolve budgeting and compliance issues.
  • Generates reports and documentation that supports project closeout activities.
  • Ensures timely and accurate journal vouchers are made as required and according to the policies and procedures of the College.
  • Liaises with other units and functions to resolve queries and errors.
  • Works closely with the Finance and Procurement Teams to ensure the smooth execution of procurement to payment process.
  • Assists with administrative tasks for the division as requested.
  • Provides coverage within the division as required.
  • Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience

    BA / BS in Finance or Accounting.

    Prior experience in Accounting (SAP knowledge desirable).

    Prior experience working in an educational environment desirable.

    Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first year pre-medical students in fall 2002 to over 200 students from more than 30 countries as we entered our sixth year of operation in September 2007.
