The College of the North Atlantic - Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Information Technology Manager.

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Administration, the Information Technology Manager must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Information Technology Department in fully implementing the College’s mission and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities :

This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with CNA-Q’s strategic direction and to ensure that all IT operations, policies and programs are in line with international best practice and relevant laws & regulations applicable in the state of Qatar.

Candidates should have an outstanding record of industry experience in Information Technology or a related field, and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Information Technology Manager.

The successful candidate is responsible to support the formulation of CNA-Q’s strategy and lead the development and implementation of the IT Department’s business plan in alignment with CNA-Q’s strategy through departmental initiatives and projects.

The candidate will lead the development and operation of a network to support effective communication and collaboration, including deploying the latest Internet Protocol networks with the capability to carry all voice, data, video and Internet traffic on a single network.

The Information Technology Manager will be responsible to oversee the development and implementation of standard IT operating procedures, in alignment with best practice for employees and students to ensure the safety of user accounts and security of CNA-Q’s systems and network.

Candidates will be responsible to lead the identification of new technology or software that would contribute to the improvement, efficiency and enhancement of exiting technology or software for the benefit of all Departments and Schools.

Lead the development and design of SharePoint, mobile applications, web services, PeopleSoft and other college business systems, and ensure maximum utilization benefits for CNA-Q.

Responsibilities also include to oversee the planning and testing of IT services regularly and oversee the discovery, mitigation and documentation of IT risks, preparation of reports and guide the team on appropriate actions.

Candidates will be required to provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates to contribute to the development of employees and must have excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, delegation and communications skills as well as the ability to act as a mentor to team members.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications :

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Experience :

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in IT or related field.

5 years of managerial experience.

Language :

Fluency in written and spoken English language required.

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic preferred.

Other Required Skills :

Strong leadership and technical skills with the ability to apply IT technical knowledge and provide sound comprehensive advice is required.

A desire to achieve organizational success and to lead by example is required. A proactive can-do attitude to work and good time management is essential.

Good attention to detail is essential and the ability to anticipate change is required. Resource management, quality and risk management and decision making is essential.

Knowledge of principles of Information Technology, IT Infrastructure, IT Security and IT Project Management is required.

Commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organisations is required.

A Commitment to ongoing IT training and continuous professional development is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in English language is required and Arabic is an asset.
