The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) invites applications for an open-rank position on the professorial scale in its Media and Cultural Studies Program.
DI is an independent and not-for-profit post-graduate academic institution. It offers 17 Masters programs through the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, the School of Public Administration and Development Economics, the School of Psychology and Social Work, and the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies.

Job responsibilities for the faculty position in Media and Cultural Studies include teaching two courses per semester, carrying out a scholarly program of research, academic and thesis advising, and serving on program and school committees.
Candidates must have a proven research record and teaching experience at the graduate level. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in media studies, mass communication, or a cognate field.
Expertise in any combination of the following fields is particularly welcome : communication theory, the political economy of communication, visual communication, and / or qualitative and quantitative research methods .
While English is recognized as a language of learning and research at the DI, ability to teach in Arabic as needed is a condition.
The appointment is to commence September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The search will continue until the position is filled.
