Reporting to the Chair - Advanced CareParamedicine, Environmental Health, and Occupational Health, Safetyand Environment, the successful candidate will be responsible forthe development and delivery simulation activities within theSchool of Health Sciences.

  • S / he will assist in evaluating studentprogress and managing the resources required for simulationactivities. The successful candidate will liaise with industry andother educational institutions;
  • participate in industry advisorycommittees and coordinate, manage, and control simulation projectswithin the School of Health Sciences and other institutions.

    Faculty members will keep course portfolio documents required foraccreditation processes and engage in instructionaldevelopment / improvement plans.

    All employees are expected tocontribute to professional and community life within the Collegeand beyond. Qualifications A Masters Degree in a health-relateddiscipline from a recognized, accredited institution, a minimum of years experience in healthcare simulation in apost-secondary, adult training, or industry training environment,and a minimum of 5 years of employment experience as a health carepractitioner / professional within a relevant discipline. PreferredQualifications

  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree inEducation (e.g. Post-secondary Education, Adult Education orVocational Education) Other Required Skills
  • Experienceoperating a variety of software programs and audio-visual equipmentused for simulation activities
  • Experience using andmaintaining a wide variety of medical equipment and supplies
  • Commitment to applied and experiential learning as apedagogy and a key feature of the College’s mandate
  • Ability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluateauthentic learning experiences and assessments incorporatingcontemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning incontext and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudesidentified in program outcomes.
  • Digital literacy anddemonstrated fluency in technology systems, and an ability to modeland facilitate use of current and emerging digital tools to supportlearning
  • Demonstrated ability to developtechnology-enriched learning environments that enable students tobe active participants in their own learning
  • Commitmentto the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teachingprofession through self-driven continuous professional developmentand life-long learning
  • Effective oral and writtencommunication skills
  • Collaborative and collegial spiritand a demonstrated ability to establish rapport with learners,colleagues, sponsor-employers, and members of thecommunity
